I'm too lazy to look up the stats but my birthday has had snow in the last 10-15 years more times than I can remember pre 2010 or so. Maybe old age is making me lose my memory though. :)
Feb 9th here and I am wishing for the same! Last time it happened was on Bainbridge Island in 2019, when I got 23 cm.

As someone mentioned yesterday, I believe catnip. For us to see our best snowstorms, it's usually never with a huge arctic blast because it ends up too dry, and we moderate or see an overrunning event that doesn't last long.
Snow with just cold enough temperatures is our sweet spot. Historic cold isn't something to cheer for unless you don't want much snow and prefer sunny and super cold weather.
