GFS expectedly cutting back on snow totals, especially for the Fraser Valley due to a stronger outflow.

Anyone have a WB map? This looks like a snowier run for extreme western metro van and E Vancouver Island.

I am surprised to see a rainfall warning issued for the valley. Too bad that isn't all snow.

Also EC seems too warm for Sunday onwards.

Currently 2.4C in Mission.

Yeah, I was just thinking about the outflow after reading the NWS discussion. Always a tough call for the valley.

Rubus_Leucodermis wrote: Tue Jan 28, 2025 2:39 pm  Definitely some signs of air stagnation today. Was “nice” and gunky over Richmond this morning. Smokestack plumes were going up, then would hit the top of the inversion layer and spread out. Seems to have gotten pushed east a bit for the moment. There was a ugly brownish cloud over Surrey about 15 minutes ago. No photos because I was in freeway traffic.
I saw that yesterday on Matsqui prairie as well. Didn't get a pic either. Good thing the rain is going to wash away some of that gunk.

Those snowfall maps are a bit misleading when is shows rain on the mix precip. where should be all Snow supported by by temp. and thickness. Not sure how that affects the snowfall maps, so what I am saying is that the snow fall in theory should be better.
