Before my time here. What was that like?
Was a pretty memorable event. Semi-stationary cold low parked in the strait for over 24 hours during a cold onshore flow setup. Snow bands constantly pushing into Metro Vancouver. Temps were bouncing around freezing, so ratios were pretty low. Many locales ended up with nearly or more than 30cm of concrete snow.

I'm trying not get too excited just yet but I'm seeing potential for a long duration cold snap. Could be a very cold February upcoming.

North Pacific blocking certainly looks quite anomalous and persistent on those maps.

Within the high-res NAM range now. Will likely be more stingy but more realistic with snowfall totals.

Is this all BS or do you think we're getting a 30-40 cm dump here?
