The upper levels are so cold the surface temp won’t matter. If there is steady precip it will be snow. I don’t think I ever cracked 2C today even with lots of sun breaks. And the snow was quite dry. Almost too dry to make a snow man. It took about an hour of packing and rolling to make a small one.Michael1 wrote: ↑Sat Feb 01, 2025 2:47 pm And that is a normal state of affairs, when it comes to precip. It's the fact that we seem to have one of the warmer temps and after the failure of the maritime arctic front, last night, to cool us a quickly and as low as modeled, I am pretty skeptical about tomorrow.

It’s not actually the same.Weather Dude wrote: ↑Sat Feb 01, 2025 4:24 pm That’s the exact same forecast they have for Vancouver (the screenshots you posted).
EC and TWN both are still calling for lots of snow.

Re: February 2025 Forecasts And Discussions
Last I checked it was held up north of Kamloops, Savona, and Cache Creek. Further west, it was pushing out to the central coast at Bella Bella and Bella Coola. Further east, it was still around the Mica Dam, and was just coming through Cranbrook. There's less of an easterly gradient with this arctic blast hence why it's making further progress to the NW rather than the NE.SouthSardiswx wrote: ↑Sat Feb 01, 2025 7:18 pm John posted early this morning the Arctic fluff had gone through Kamloops so that had me confused when l looked later and it hadn't but all good.

02Z HRRR keeps us below 0 when the precip arrives tomorrow morning, now just have to avoid the dreaded temperature spike right when the moisture rolls in

Re: February 2025 Forecasts And Discussions
l recall in the past Arctic fluffs coming down the island first before coming through the canyon from the NE this looks like one of those rare occasions Tslush.? so what happens with 2 systems along the Arctic boundary it changes the trajectory or orientation of the Arctic fart.Typeing3 wrote: ↑Sat Feb 01, 2025 7:47 pm Last I checked it was held up north of Kamloops, Savona, and Cache Creek. Trace to 4cm overnight. I would not be surprised if people woke up to green lawns tomorrow.
2 to 8cm tomorrow into Monday.
