Re: February 2025 Forecasts And Discussions
It's not a record if it's not being compared to all other years over the period of record. If not, the goalposts are simply being moved.
We were not keeping records in 804BC. I'm sure you know that. For some locales across the province, record keeping began in the late 19th century, and is accessible via EC. That's pretty much as far back as they go.
Additionally, 1989 was not top for our region, if we are talking about coldest February on record. The coldest February in recorded history is 1936.

Re: February 2025 Forecasts And Discussions
This really should not happen. The hard part of tracking this down is we can do what we can on our end but if the error is on the users end, there is not much we can do unless we troubleshoot one on one. Some people complain about being logged out of Amazon all the time while others don't.. etc. It's a common issue with many people across many sites for some goofy reason. We keep trying to fix it, and it seems fixed, so I'm not sure what is going on other than it seems to be a domain or cookie issue.
I think in Spring or whenever Stuffy moves to the upgraded hosting, we might just start everything fresh. It might be a lot of work but if it fixes many issues then it's worth it. Don't want to mess up the forum right now during our snowy and cold period.

Kensington/Cedar Cottage looks to be about smack dab in the middle of the Pepto on that map.

Re: February 2025 Forecasts And Discussions
Nice!!! I love all day snow, even if there's minimal accumulation I like seeing it floating down. I remember one winter recently where we had a long cold stretch and would randomly get snow even though nothing was forecast, that was fantastic! I wonder if it will be the same during this upcoming cold.

I'm curious though, for myself personally, I use https://forums.bcstorms.ca. I own both names bcstorms.ca and bcstorm.ca. I set forums.bcstorms.ca as a mirror of forums.bcstorm.ca. This could be what the issue is. If I added a redirect to forums.bcstorms.ca so it redirects everyone to forums.bcstorm.ca, and I set the cookie as forums.bcstorm.ca so we are no longer using bcstorms.ca, this might make our login problems go away.

Looks like the EPS is colder than the deterministic for next weekend. I'll post the charts once the meteograms are out.

Re: February 2025 Forecasts And Discussions
Would testing that out risk the forum going down for an indefinite period? If not, perhaps try it? If so, let's wait until the weather gets boring.stuffradio wrote: ↑Sat Feb 01, 2025 10:31 pm I'm curious though, for myself personally, I use https://forums.bcstorms.ca. Re: February 2025 Forecasts And Discussions
I use forums.bcstorms.ca and never have issues with getting logged out. The only time I have to log in again is if I upgrade my browser, and upgrading makes that happen for every site that does session management.stuffradio wrote: ↑Sat Feb 01, 2025 10:31 pm I'm curious though, for myself personally, I use https://forums.bcstorms.ca. These seem cold. I’m skeptical it remains below freezing for 6 consecutive days in Vancouver.AbbyJr wrote: ↑Sat Feb 01, 2025 10:19 pm ecmwf-deterministic-CYXX-daily_tmin_tmax-8454400.png

I don’t have issues on my computer either but I do on my phone.Rubus_Leucodermis wrote: ↑Sat Feb 01, 2025 10:34 pm I use forums.bcstorms.ca and never have issues with getting logged out.
