20 cm… down from 22 cm on Monday morning.

Drifted snow getting pretty deep on my shed roof.

My peak depth was 22.8cm Monday morning. Down to 15.2cm now. Is it common to lose so much depth from compacting? It’s been sub freezing other than a brief high of 0.3C today. Not sure melting explains it.

I think powdery snow is quite sparse, so a little bit of melting means more depth is lost. Less liquid in general than heavy wet snow, more air.

Very common, but not all of the loss is from compacting -- much of it is from sublimation, which is made worse by the wind. Areas that are sheltered from the wind tend to hold onto their snowpack much better.

What’s a decent radar app that is accurate. Env Canada app is most accurate but is constantly an hour behind. Alternative I use is WeatherBug. Others?

My Radar, Radar Scope free unless you want the paid version no thanks and Weather Can is good it's better than E C's web page have a look minion l'm assuming for your cell?
