Things I want to say:

There are still big time snow chances this year. You may have to wait until November or December but we will have a narrow window due to El Nino!

We will still see snow soon. It may just quickly transition to rain across most of Western Washington lowlands leading to a wet sloppy dusting.

The torch is on. Look forward to mild pineapply rains followed by ridging! Could see our first 60 burgers in a few weeks. Jimtastic weather. :dancepine:

March looks ripe for potential. Think +9C days followed by overnight sticking slush. Fortunately the March sun angles will prevent any daytime snow issues.

Looks better up in the Lower Mainland though. :flakey:

However, it did really good last January with track of the surface low that led to the region wide snowstorm. I'd trust it in some setups more than others. :silent: :flakey:
True. Mesoscale models are the way to go during convective setups as the global models really struggle due to their poor resolution.

Single 40cm snowfall would be a Feb 1990 repeat.

I've seen Snow Wizard say that exact quote 50 times in the past 5 years. His wish-casting is unbelievable.

FYI, an el Nino next winter is by no means a certainty, any more than a la Nina was this year. At the moment, the models are looking at a warm neutral. At this point in our climate, the effect an neutral enso has on our weather is increasingly uncertain.

I've heard it said before that it takes less to force flurries out of the air than rain because of the lower temperatures and that's why weak energy like tomorrow is often modeled too try. I don't remember by whom but it may have been Chris Doyle. Is this a thing?
