Re: February 2025 Forecasts And Discussions
yenno I wonder if the models are doing away with the cold air a bit too quickly on Saturday. As far as I can tell 850s and 925s remain below freezing for most if not all the day and surface flow remains easterly.
I'm not convinced that it'll be +4 and raining, at least not at the start...

In the meantime, the idea of temps in low teens is gaining traction...?

Models usually push cold air away too quickly.VanCitySouth wrote: ↑Wed Feb 12, 2025 11:45 am yenno I wonder if the models are doing away with the cold air a bit too quickly on Saturday. Re: February 2025 Forecasts And Discussions
We better get at least a bit of an overrunning event this weekend. If not that will be a typical screwjob for us. After this though let's move onto warmer days.

Re: February 2025 Forecasts And Discussions
Possible scenarios:
1) Starts as flurries..then snow > Total 2-4cms before it turns to rain
2) Starts as snow > Turns to rain within a few hours > Total 0.5-1cm of sloppy goo
3) Starts as snow > then turns to rain quickly > >Turns everything into a clear glaze > 1-2mm of sloppy slush
4) Starts as snow > Total 5-8cms before it turns to rain
5) Banana Belts >0cms as usual
Id like #6, but we'll prolly get #2

#6) Complete unprecedented model failure in our favour > Classic override > Heavy snow > Total 25-35cms before it ends in wet flurries and another chilly and sunny run of a few days
