EL Neetzz says plus 15c coming in 10 days. It's currently +1.3c and mostly clear skies some high thin cirrus, the NE anus downsloping winds have eased. The dewpoint is -11.6c @ the pond in south Sardis. :D

SW flow after next Thurs with the main storm track aiming due north. 1500m snow levels.

GFS doesnt do a full blown torch. Euro is a disaster with tons of rain for the ski hills after Wednesday. 2 meters of snow above 2000m in the 14 day period.

Probably the last time the lake will look like this until, perhaps November, if we're lucky. Its been a spectacular run of 12 days of snow on the ground, here.

As I'm watching and hearing the snow pack falling off my roof in the sun and +5c temps it feel like the end of winter. It's been a long run of cold nights in Sechelt and the snow has been here for a long time so it's been a decent winter imo. I'm still hoping for more snow chances of course. :D

Jan: 20 nights below 0
Feb: 13 nights below 0 so far

Coldest temp: -7.9c on the 7th
One day below 0 Feb 5 -0.6c

Toronto completely shut down yesterday. They really don't do well with snowstorms. I recall the same thing when they had their last big one in Jan 2022. Some of the videos I saw coming out of there looked like snowstorm mayhem straight out of Vancouver. Dare I say we fared better during our last big snowstorm in Jan 2024?

Today is the 35th anniversary of the snowstorm that dropped 30-50cm across much of Metro Vancouver in less than 36hrs.

We are going to cook after next week. Maybe I will be cooking on the patio.
