Pen. They had both as an option at my voting booth.Forrest Gump wrote: ↑Mon Apr 21, 2025 10:26 pm Did you use pen or pencil ? My son-in-law brought his own pen , using pencil opens the door to possible shenanigans, which didn't occur to me until he mentioned it. I used pencil![]()

I believe the only two countries that tax based on citizenship instead of residency are the USA and Eritrea. The latter is often called “the North Korea of Africa” to give some idea of how totalitarian its government is.Glacier wrote: ↑Tue Apr 22, 2025 10:35 am The USA has absolutely crazy tax laws. My wife's grandma is 93 and a US citizen who has lived in Canada since the early 1980s. All of her wealth is in her ranch in BC. When it sells upon her death or earlier, she will owe the US government capital gains tax.

Some sensible and unbiased comments from former political editor Michael Higgins about Carney, he questions his lack of morals for political gain.

This short video tells the tale how everything has gone downhill in last 10 liberal years, from longer healthcare wait times to lower life expectancy.

Re: Politics
How can a poll be reliable that doesn't add up to 100? It shows conservatives down 1 and nothing else changed? It's at 99%. Who is the other 1%? That should be in the "Other" category if anything...
btw, not attacking you, just stating stats can easily be skewed. Let's wait to see who shows up on election day + who already voted.

This polling firm estimates 71% voter turnout, a massive increase, which historically means good things for the opposition, but we will know on Monday if that's the case.
According to 338 Canada modeling the Conservatives actually have better vote efficiency above 40%, so if polls are off by 2 points between the Liberals and the Conservative, the conservatives win the most seats even if they lose the popular vote.

I’m not a real fan of our political system in my perfect world, You would have half the seats based on popular vote and the other half on ridings so that even a party would one percent of the popular vote would get a seat or two.
You would have much lower chance of getting a majority by one part, but that’s democracy

Mark Carney said Trump respected him and Canada's sovereignty during their call but Carney recently confirmed Trump brought up the 51st state during the call.

Good breakdown of Carney's latest lie, there have been so many in past month I've lost count.
