Lol... I support the third option: We pay nothing and we don't become the 51st state.SouthSardiswx wrote: ↑Tue May 27, 2025 9:56 pm Trump says if we were the 51st state we wouldn't have to pay anything towards the golden dome.l think it should be called the golden shower,

Of course, in reality he has no idea how much this "dome" would cost, and that's assuming it's even feasible to begin with (which I doubt). It has all the makings of a colossal boondoggle, but it will certainly make a lot of money for defence contractors, so I guess there's that. In any case, Trump will be out of office or maybe even dead before there's ever a working prototype.

Re: Politics
There's a confidence vote happening today. The NDP said they will vote no confidence. The Conservatives I imagine will do the same, unless Carney gives in to something, maybe like a bigger tax cut? I don't know. We could be heading into another election.

Re: Politics
Today, Mark Carney announced that we are increasing GDP spending to 2% for the military. Because Mark Carney is trying to heavily copy a European model, I wonder how long it will be before mandatory military service for citizens is implemented.

Actually was it ever mandatory to serve your nation in Canada maybe it would crack down on a lot of trouble maker kids out there and make them grow up.stuffradio wrote: ↑Mon Jun 09, 2025 11:39 am Today, Mark Carney announced that we are increasing GDP spending to 2% for the military.
