Max of 26.6˚C here. Had some afternoon sea breezes which held temps down a bit compared to further inland areas.
It's called clown range for a reason.

Growing up In Vancouver Kitsilano/Point Grey area l remember those mid 20c highs were manageable during these heat humps of my youth l absolutely loved this type of weather then when your a kid nothing bothers you.Rubus_Leucodermis wrote: ↑Sat Jun 07, 2025 10:47 pm Max of 26.6˚C here. Re: June 2025 Forecasts And Discussions
MBY usually does not get affected by that very much. But occasionally, like yesterday, there is a measurable effect.SouthSardiswx wrote: ↑Sat Jun 07, 2025 10:52 pm Growing up In Vancouver Kitsilano/Point Grey area l remember those mid 20c highs were manageable during these heat humps of my youth l absolutely loved this type of weather then when your a kid nothing bothers you.
The further east you get, the warmer it gets in heat waves. It’s very noticeable if you are on a bicycle heading east from Downtown. EC’s forecast for Vancouver says up to 29˚C inland and their upper end inland temp is usually a very good guide to what I will see IMBY.
It's called clown range for a reason.

Re: June 2025 Forecasts And Discussions
This is from the NWS Seattle discussion:
"If you are thinking this is an unusual start to June you would be right. In 80 years of records at Seattle-Tacoma airport the first 10 days of June have been dry in only 9 years. The last time in 2014. It is even rarer for the first two weeks of June to be dry. That has only happened four years ( 2009, 1996, 1982 and 1969 ).
Highs of 85 degrees plus are a little uncommon for Seattle thistime of year. In the 80 years of records in the first 10 days of June it has happened 29 times. 90 degree plus days have only occurred 8 times. The Federal Building in downtown Seattle did hit 100 degrees on June 9th 1955. The high at the official Seattle location, Seattle-Tacoma airport, was 96 degrees that day."
June 2015 was also a hot and dry one. What I remember most about that month is we had such a low snowpack that there was already water shortages and by the end of the month there was alot of smoke in Metro Vancouver from fires near Squamish. Sure hope that doesn't happen this year , although i'm not confident because the lack of rain in the forecast is very concerning. Latest models show the chance for some rain around the 17th-20th. Latest Euro is considerably drier than previous runs. What saved our bacon in 2015 were 2 events. One deluge in late July and a few days of heavy rain in late August that year.
