Re: July 2025 Forecasts and Discussion
Well, it looks like EC was bang-on for highs in the valley. 32.9C here in Mission and just a smidge warmer in Abby.
Those morning temperature departures weren’t really predictive of anything.

Re: July 2025 Forecasts and Discussion
Even in the late 90's early 2000's travelling in to Alberta through the ice fields the roads were well maintained even Banff to Calgary or Jasper to Edmonton was excellent road conditions.Glacier wrote: ↑Tue Jul 15, 2025 12:27 pm I probably almost past you on the road! We came through on Friday evening (south down highway 40).
It's amazing how much better the highways are in Alberta! in Fort St. John and Dawson Creek and all through the Cariboo and highway 16, they do a lot of 4 laning with the lanes together (so need more traffic lights and still get head-ons)... but on the Alberta side, nice new 4 lane section south of Grande Prairie with a huge wide median so that trucks can cross two lanes, then wait and cross the other two (much much safer than in BC).
We took highway 40 instead of go through Prince George simply because of the better highways. And we spent about $200. $200 that went to Alberta and not BC. And many, many others do this as well when traveling up to the Peace region.

Frigid early morning in the Rocky Mountain foothills in Grande Cache with temps dipping to near 0c following the cold front passage yesterday evening -- quickly rising as the sun rose with fog and low cloud lingering (pic # 1).
Warm and sunny day in northwestern Alberta (pic # 2: Grande Prairie / pic # 3: Beaverlodge). Similar conditions across the provincial border in northeastern BC (pic # 4: Dawson Creek / pic # 5: Site C Dam Fort St John) with afternoon temps between 25c and 28c.

Re: July 2025 Forecasts and Discussion
I don’t think I got to sleep until around 1:00 am this morning. And that was with two window fans going full blast. Would hate to think of what kind of sweat box my place would have been without the fans.
Around 30c again this afternoon but dew point has fallen today so much more comfortable. Hopefully the drier air will cool down faster tonight.
It's called clown range for a reason.
