Re: August 2025 Forecasts and Discussion
ECs forecast for Vancouver for the next couple days looks like an error. They only have a 30% chance of showers for Wednesday, and that's it. Meanwhile the 00z models are showing widespread rain especially the Euro. Unless the early model runs today completely did a 180 on the precip but I doubt that.

I'm thinking of setting up regional Facebook pages for BC. Doing this will allow me to target weather warnings for specific areas of the province. I might also set something up to alert the Facebook page when frost warnings are in place, etc.

It's still there on the Euro, at least. Total precip ending Friday morning.Coquitlam79 wrote: ↑Mon Aug 04, 2025 10:19 am ECs forecast for Vancouver for the next couple days looks like an error. Re: August 2025 Forecasts and Discussion
The GEM is quite a bit drier. Perhaps that explains EC's pessimism.

Looks like we might be going into the furnace late next weekend and into the following week. Still in the clown range though.

EC’s forecast is garbage. Totally unreliable.Coquitlam79 wrote: ↑Mon Aug 04, 2025 10:19 am ECs forecast for Vancouver for the next couple days looks like an error. Re: August 2025 Forecasts and Discussion
They've backed off to 30% chance of showers here too. I hope we get some rain, it's so dry here, This morning looked promising but turned out just overcast and dark.
I was disappointed they've upped the temp too, it was forecast to be 18c tomorrow for several days but now is a more reasonable 20c.
Yesterday was a high of 20.4c. Can anyone tell me the lowest high for Sechelt for August?

Must be 14.8°C in 2018 but very short period of record (2007-2025).Roberts Creeker wrote: ↑Mon Aug 04, 2025 1:18 pm Can anyone tell me the lowest high for Sechelt for August?
For Powell River, it's 12.2°C in 1960 (since 1924).

Thank you! Yes, the new station doesn't have much of a record. That is cold! brrrrCanada Goose wrote: ↑Mon Aug 04, 2025 1:45 pm Must be 14.8°C in 2018 but very short period of record (2007-2025).

Pic# 1 Black Creek fire on Saturday. Pic#2 Hope - Flood road south of Highway 1. I didn't hear about this fire on the news, my friend said it's about 2 weeks old and it's now a flare up.

Re: August 2025 Forecasts and Discussion
im really enjoying this "soccer team" summer schedule. The 4/4/2, or the 3/4/3 lol. Take your pick. (a great mix of either sun/cloud/warm/showers/rain/cool)

Has anywhere locally cracked 35c so far this summer?

Looking forward to our first 3 day stretch of sun and 20c++

Re: August 2025 Forecasts and Discussion
I’ll have to check my records for the exact count, but I’ve had a handful of afternoons in the 30’s already. And plenty of ’em in the 25–30 range.
It's called clown range for a reason.

I think with the variability this summer, it has just had a completely different feel this year.Rubus_Leucodermis wrote: ↑Tue Aug 05, 2025 9:19 am I’ll have to check my records for the exact count, but I’ve had a handful of afternoons in the 30’s already. And plenty of ’em in the 25–30 range.
