The 12Z Euro wants to build another heat ridge in early September. Still in the clown range but it's definitely something to watch.

Looks like the high today is 22.5c at 1 and 2 pm, it's been dropping since, now at 21.4c. Far short of the 27c EC was forecasting.

Edit: jumped up to 23.5 at 5 pm.

The Canadian September record will fall.

By the way, 40.1°C in Lytton today, 4th Tx > 40°C in a row, for the 4th time in history and the 1st time in August (at the end of the month!).

Just hit 28.1C here. Likely will be the today's high. Cooler than the past few days but a lot more humid. Very sticky out there today.

Seems like all 3 model suites are showing this ridge. Never a slam dunk but looks like a good possibility. One last hurrah perhaps?

If this was winter, the East would be getting slammed with :chilly:

1967 is a significant one. That was also a very bad late season (August & September) wildfires all across the PNW. 2-3 weeks of smoke in Vancouver in September 1967!

Very warm and humid through most of next week on tonights GEM run. While there is still much uncertainty on next week, it looks like summer might stay locked in for the foreseeable future. It should be noted that temperatures in the upper 20's wouldn't normally be much to write home about around here. But the dew points shown on the run are unusually high for an extended period and from what I've noticed, the GEM doesn't usually overdue the dew points by much, unlike the Euro, which seems to assume we are in Toronto most heatwaves.
