Re: September 2025 Forecasts and Discussions
Someone put the Nelson station in the oven. Castlegar and Trail are usually the Kootenay hotspots as 35c+ is fairly common there every summer.Canada Goose wrote: ↑Wed Sep 03, 2025 6:24 pm Do you remember my forecast at the end of August?![]()

Re: September 2025 Forecasts and Discussions
The latest RGEM keeps the heatwave going through Saturday. While the next few days do look a bit cooler, it will likely still be very warm and humid.

Re: September 2025 Forecasts and Discussions
Less smoky at the surface here IMBY than yesterday. But either cloudy or more smoky aloft. The sunlight that is making it to ground level is really weak.
21.0˚C. Weaker sun is really putting the crimp on warming. Temperature right now is -4.6˚C with respect to yesterday at this time.

It's called clown range for a reason.

Re: September 2025 Forecasts and Discussions
Salmo and Trail were 39 though, and Salmo is higher elevation.
Anyway, I only included 3 forestry stations here because they seem reliable and used to have ECCC stations...
(I probably shouldn't include the Port Alberni temperature from 1907 though because it was WAY hotter than anyone else in the province. Possible, but very unlikely. Same goes for Boston Bar in 1975. Station was probably overexposed.

September 1988 was historic, especially for the south coast.Glacier wrote: ↑Thu Sep 04, 2025 12:49 pm Salmo and Trail were 39 though, and Salmo is higher elevation.

Re: September 2025 Forecasts and Discussions
Temp 23.9˚C, DP 18.3˚C. A tad warm and muggy but not oppressive.
Air quality has improved at the surface since morning, and is much better than yesterday, but there is thick smoke aloft (much thicker overall than yesterday). Hardly any shadows in the yellowish light out there.

Re: September 2025 Forecasts and Discussions
Temperatures quite depressed in Kamloops due to the smoke. Forecast is for 33c but it is 22c now. 32 c in Merritt.
Why not try cycling to work, grocery store, anywhere!
