Re: Politics
OTTAWA — Prospective federal NDP leadership candidates will have to raise $100,000 and amass 500 signatures from members — most of which cannot come from cisgender men — to be officially in the running, according to rules that were released on Tuesday.
Rules indicate that at least 50 per cent of the total required signatures must be from NDP members who do not identify as a cisgender man — meaning a male whose reported gender corresponds to their reported sex at birth.........
....I guess the NDP party is trying to out woke the liberals?
The party did not immediately respond when asked how officials would reasonably verify if members identified as cisgender men.

Re: Politics
LOL, remember a few years ago when the BC NDP say no new candidates could be straight white men, and then Jerry Taft in Revelstoke run for and won the nomination and the women he was running against said this was unfair because he's a straight white married man with a children, so he couldn't qualify.
The party told the women, "trust us, he's eligible."
So under pressure, Jerry Taft released what he told the party, and that he was "bi-sexual." LOL, who knows if he really is, that doesn't matter. All you have tell the NDP is that you're bisexual or trans or whatever, and they'll just believe you.

Re: Politics
More like assassinated, murdered in cold blood, and many on the left are celebrating. Stooping to new lows, the ultimate in canceling someone, just take their life, for standing up for free speech and Judeo-Christian values. They needed to kill Charlie Kirk because his views were so influential with the youth. He was single handedly deprogramming Gen Z from leftist poisonous woke propaganda pushed on them in today's education system.

Yesterday when I heard it happen I was hoping he would pull through. It's definitely sad. There have been updates today like the FBI thinks they recovered the rifle used.

Re: Politics
Really terrible. No one should be assassinated for their political beliefs. His poor wife and young children. These are real human beings who are left without a husband and father.
I'm not that familiar with his work, so can't say if I agree or disagree with most of what he said, but that's totally beside the point. I would never wish death of anyone like this no matter how wrong I thought they were. From what I understand, he liked to talk and debate with people. The proper way to defeat him (if he's wrong), is to debate him back with better arguments. Killing him tells me, you're scared that maybe he's right, or you're just a lazy coward.

Re: Politics
This morning Trump was saying they think there's been a break in the case and there's a high degree of certainty that they have the suspect. There is going to be a press conference coming up by the FBI.

First off I agree that celebrating his death in that fashion is abhorrent, and I think most agree too. There’s the other side of the coin which people maybe are not feeling the sympathy you might want them to, and that’s honestly fine. Charlie Kirk himself argued that empathy was weak, so I don’t think he’d mind. But celebrating it is certainly not cool.
Cancel culture is not a left wing phenomenon. There are thousands of examples on both sides. This is not that. This is a lunatic with a gun, something the left wing has tried endlessly to limit without success. We both know why that is. It’s been said that some gun deaths are necessary to uphold the (misunderstood) second amendment, and this seems to be the result, once again.
Leftist propaganda is not poisonous, it’s a point of view you disagree with, validly of course. IMO What is poisonous is intolerance of opposing views, like I’m seeing a lot lately. We need to be open to differing opinions.
I’m not a huge fan of these debate bros on either side. It’s a lot of bravado, talking over each other, making things up, well edited vids of people “owning” each other. That’s not a productive debate to me but to each their own.
In terms of promoting Christianity, I’m not seeing it. Lots of christians don’t hold his views. Christianity does not seem to be a simple black and white monolith of values and morals. We could dive into that deeper if you like but I have Christian friends not on board with this guy and his movement.
Canada had a guy named Jordan Peterson who up and left because he didn’t like that his professional association has the right not to be represented by him publicly and claimed free speech when it doesn’t really apply. Canada has its own Charlie Kirk’s. They’re just not funded by billionaires and backed by the potus.

Re: Politics
The person who was debating Charlie Kirk when it happened made a video about it. He said he was just trying to debate and talk about how peaceful the left actually was.

Re: Politics
Charlie Kirk loved God, his family, his country. From what I understand he made a huge positive impact on many, many people, not just in America but around the globe, and from reading some comments, even with some in the LGBT community. He was able to reach them with biblical truths and common sense, bringing purpose and meaning to their lives. But the world hates the Truth, therefore he had to be silenced. Jesus said, If the world hates you, you know that it hated Me before it hated you.(John 15:18)PortKells wrote: ↑Fri Sep 12, 2025 2:09 pm A lot here to unpack. One of the first things that entered my mind after hearing of Kirk's death, was not politics, but spiritual warfare. Ask your Christian friends if they're familiar with Ephesians 6:12, 2 Corinthians 10:3-6, Romans 12:2. Ask them if God is progressive, changes with the times, or is He the same yesterday, today, and forever.
These Paul Harvey comments from 1965 couldn't be more true.

Just saw this, Kirk's death spurs on revival.

That's really sad. Most people on the left (and the right and whereever) are peaceful. I wish people would see it like you. As it is, we are going down a dark path and there’s no turning back. Things are getting ugly, and fast.
