Relatively chilly and dry late November and to open December. Main focus of the arctic air will be east of the Rockies.

Need this overall pattern to trend west for December for cold and snow chances for our region.

Yeah, otherwise it will be mild and dry. Great...

In my opinion, the potentially cold December will affect the Canadian Prairies and eastern Canada. Here...

Dry, yes, but mild? Definitely not.

If the ridge axis is directly overhead, we'll have an inversion with cool surface temps (likely between -2c and 5c) with plenty of fog/freezing fog.

If the ridge axis is just offshore, we'll see outflow ramp up, but still have cool surface temps. Lots of sunshine. Similar to the last two weeks of January this year.

A nightmare in the 2 cases.
