I don't think any "significant" cold was ever on the table. The second week of January is still well in the long range so things can change.

Christmas memories as a kid was hearing cold weather and snow was coming between Christmas and New Years was like another gift. I still get that excitement as an adult. :D

EC updated forecast @10:12p.m. says local snowfall amounts to 5cm now for Chilliwack tomorrow night. :? and 2cm to 4cm for Abby.

It was -1.3c earlier now up to 1.9c with abit of outflow now, dewpoint is -2.2c. In south Sardis.
