I think they are expecting their backyards to turn into the arctic tundra.
12z still looks ok with cold onshore flow/low snow levels in the believable range.

Pushed back to 10+ days out again. Jet stream aimed right at SW BC bringing copious amounts of rain and Mountain snow. Could be worse.

Anyone who observed the ensembles saw a trend emerging. Cooler than average with more moisture. This is cooler than average with more moisture.
Mountains look prime for 5ft of snow. Happy as hell.
