Very cold air being pulled into a subtrolical flow. My guess is the rainfall will be very intense and next Thurs- Sat will end up torching.

100-150mm Thurs to Sat?

Any signs of lowland snow is all but gone in the next 10 days.
So you really do prefer mild AR's versus cold and snow.

To be honest, I was very skeptical that we would see the colder snowy solutions for next weekend verify. I'm more interested for things turning colder and snowy around the 10th. I could be wrong but I hope I'm not.

Model consensus in LR. Cold air goes to the other side of the globe.

Bummer. I saw a mosquito out today. We need some solid freezes but this looks very unlikely the next 2 weeks. May as well go super dry and get that ridge to amplify over the west coast. Could lead to a decent inversion.

Thanks Jr. for trying to keep our hopes up but carrots won't help right now. I'm too fragile for that.

This is the new norm with the climate. West Coast Ridging and split flows seem to have been the default patterns the last 7 winters it seems (aside from 2016-17). We barely see windstorms, legiimate arctic blasts, winter thunderstorms or cold core lows anymore. The 2010's have delivered some boring mundane weather...Almost similar to what Northern California used to see.

No surprise that we are going to likely see a ridgy January again.

Okay now your just being silly. No reason to say with any kind of confidence that January will end up ridgy. Thanks for being you though. You bring a unique fun element to our community. :D

Well Gumps the Euro almost pulled off a last second touchdown but was stopped short of the goal line by El Nito.

I like their chances better against the eagles and niners anyways. ;)
