This is from the NOAA discussion from the Seattle weather office. I guess those random showers/precip the models are trying to pin down on Wednesday/Thursday are part of an upper level low that will be spinning around off the coast. Tough to nail down details. Be interesting to see if it develops into anything the next few days.

Well there goes that. 0z GEM has barely any precip now and a gradual warmup in early March.

The GFS is still sufficiently cold.

There was never going to be any highs below 0C.
It always snows in December in the Kootenays :clap:

Just flicking through the records for Shawnigan Lake. We have a good chance for 3rd coldest February on record (monthly mean). 1936 and 1989 out of reach

The old Vancouver station averaged -0.4C in Feb 1936.Pretty much a lock for second coldest Feb on record in Vancouver (record coldest for YVR).

Can someone post a comparison picture of a backdoor blast and a true arctic front? Like the 500mb pattern for each?
