It suddenly got really dark out and windy, now getting pounded by rain but no hail yet.

Got a fat positively charged, high current (24 kA) clound to ground strike about 20 minutes ago, hit Gaglardi Way at Lougheed. How did this squall line form, anyway?

Very rare for a thunderstorm to make it that far inland in January. They usually die off pretty quickly.
