It's pretty crazy that last February was 2C colder than this January has been, despite the arctic outbreak we had this month.

But even though last February was cold, most of the "real" cold and snow was done by the 12th... we had no subfreezing highs after that date.

Our chances of seeing anything good diminish pretty quickly after Valentine's Day.

We'll see! At the very least maybe we get some more mild temps than we have been seeing lately.

Edit: In 4 more days we will have a sunset after 5 PM and in less than a week we're gaining 3 minutes of light a day!

The GEM model had a super computer model upgrade switched on this last week, so it's starting to get even better and better and some people have noticed it performing better as of late compared to other models. It's not as bad as the CFS

It's usually pretty good at getting the overall pattern right but then it fails at the details, especially with overdoing precipitation. We'll see how it performs with the upgrade.

I'm excited to set up my new station  :D
