Ah yes King Harvest had a hit song in 1972 called Dancing in the moonlight. Not sure if there's any correlation there.

Like I said they were fairly tame , but I did smack one between my palms just to make sure I wasn't dreaming. I don't ever recall seeing mosquitoes in January, probably not even February for that matter.

I've seen them too but I think they're midges, not mosquitoes, they look very similar but midges don't bite...or I could be wrong and they are mosquitoes and you were just moving too fast for them to catch. :lol:

Definitely not midges/chironomids, these mosquitoes were actually fairly large, most of the chironomids that I've seen around here are tiny and fly around in large clusters.almost stationary ;)
