GEM looks very promising for us by day 10. About to drop the motherload of arctic air over the south coast.

If what you saw look like mosquitoes and are half their size or smaller than yes they are midges(english term),we call them chironomids.
I'm a trout fisherman so I need to know my insects.

No see ems can actually be seen when they land on you,tiny little black things that bite .

Definitely the best looking run I've seen. The GEM trend is positive. Euro will be interesting.

Yes it is starting to believe with these models showing varian degrees of cold that something is going to happen.

Are we still getting slammed by the rain train on Friday? Global news kinda mum on the topic . I guess they're not convinced yet.

Heavy rain in the morning, showers in the afternoon and transitioning back to heavy rain in the evening per 00z NAM.

Will likely see a widespread 50-75mm on Friday.
