This will be the case for the first half of Feb with potentially some brief ridging. Still maintain my belief the crazy stuff happens 2nd half of the month and is a coast to coast blast.

I would call this a sidedoor shot..and likely weak if anything at all.
High 7 Low -2 type weather depending where ur at of course.

Retrogression definitely looks probable as we progress thru the month. Could see the coldest anomalies centred over BC and WA rather than over MT and OR.

On the subject of mosquitoes, I just noticed one hanging out around my front door hoping to get in when I arrived home this evening. A surprise it managed to survive the cold snap earlier this month. In the middle of a culvert, perhaps?
It's called clown range for a reason.

Yeah just don't see a coast to coast blast only west based cold IMO.

Seems pessimistic as of now. Will it be the January blast? No. But some good stuff could be headed our way with any luck.

I also encountered a mosquito on Monday at Derby Reach Park in Langley.

I have been trying to like your posts. Can you make it happen a bit earlier, say in the 1st half of February, please?
