I think EC is tired of SWS.

The sky sure has that flat gray snow look to it off to my E and NE right now. Nanaimo reporting light snow. 18Z GFS was quite generous with precip amounts for Vancouver tonight.

Massive snow drought continues in Vancouver.
Only one year with above average snowfall in the past decade. And that's going by the 1981-2010 averages! Going by the 1971-2000 averages, we would be sitting at zero years with above average snowfall in the past decade.

That’s disgusting. For YVR?

Yep.
Most likely the worst snowfall streak (relative to average) in the entire PNW.

Just got back, and it's 5.9 outside and light flurries. How bizarre to see!
Very little melting today despite hitting 6c.

It would certainly be nice to score a calm clear cold night out of this pattern. I don't believe we've had a single one this month.
I got down to -8C as a low on February 4th.

That was more of a classic outflow cold air advection. It was very windy and I'm pretty sure it was cloudy and snowing, as well
We've had some clear nights, but we haven't been able to radiate effectively due to the wind.
Anything warmer than -10C is lame for a winter low. Ideally, we want to see at least one day of -12C to -15C.

Just quickly made this graph. Yearly Vancouver snowfall back to 1898. 1961-1990 average is the blue line while the linear trend is in black.
Data primarily used from Vancouver PMO and YVR. I substituted the Steveston station for a couple years as there was a small gap in station data for Vancouver PMO.
