Had 0cm. Ground has that "first rain after a drought smell."
I know exactly what you mean!
I left work after being inside all day, and though it was heavy wet snow falling, it had that nice spring rain after a sunny spell smell to it. But then again, we’re one day away from March...

These little instabilities in the atmosphere could cause extremely heavy snow showers in pockets stretching from Vancouver to the Valley. The eastern sections will be slightly favoured. As for lower elevations, you will need the heavier precip to bring down temps a bit more, although the upper air temps support snow, so we are just waiting for a more uniform temp spread to get the snow down to sea level. Again, not impossible for tonight, but a bit harder than normal.
Love your posts. You should post here more often. :D

I drove through Willoughby yesterday. Wow. What the hell are they doing there. It's like condo or townhome complexes everywhere. They destroyed so much large properties with beautiful trees on them. Now it's a traffic nightmare and no transit so cars parked everywhere. This density BS needs to stop. And why are they building another building in the 200th St. overpass loop? Seriously, the people need to sue Langley for this asinine idea and making THE WORST overpass area in history!

Hate to respectfully disagree (kind of), but it’s the what comes first, chicken or egg argument.
Willoughby right now isn’t that much different than Walnut Grove was 20-25 years ago.
You only get transit options these days to neighborhoods that have density. Step #1 was the rapid bus to the 202 street transit loop, and hopefully sooner than later, LRT/Skytrain to Langley as well.
The lesser the density, the less transit options we’ll get.
That said, if the recent downturn in real estate continues, the traffic nightmare currently being experienced will continue for a long, long time, with the current way roads are built out using DCC funds from development projects.

Just my $0.02...
