Just heading back from Manning, filling up at Whatcom. You valley people have such incredible views. Wow. The purple shade of the sky over the mountains
and Mt Baker too is just majesterial.

Yeah, it can be amazing depending where you are... somehow I managed to live in a spot with no view whatsoever. If I want to see a mountain I need to walk a few blocks away.

I didn’t realize it when I bought my place (it wasn’t mentioned in the listing) but I have a view of Mount Baker when the trees immediately to my east are bare. It was a nice surprise when I first noticed it late last October.
It's called clown range for a reason.

Whistler Blackcomb snow forecast looks absolutely insane next week...
Any chance on this actually verifying according to the models?

Re: February 2020 Forecasts and Discussions
I think its based on the GFS. So, take it for what its worth. But yes, the 14th-19th period looks to be active and troughy which is great news for us skiers. Sorry for those who want endless sunshine and torching from February 15th to December 15thBear Golden wrote: ↑Sun Feb 09, 2020 10:14 am Whistler Blackcomb snow forecast looks absolutely insane next week...

Re: February 2020 Forecasts and Discussions
I know I might sound silly for suggesting this but I think there is the potential for one more low elevation snow event this season. Either late February or sometime in March. Likely will be a slushfest but I could see it happening. Its not like we've never seen it snow in March.
To be honest, I don't want a snow event unless it results in at least 10cm of accumulation on all surfaces. If all we can get is a slushfest, then bring on spring. I wouldn't complain about a March 1951 or 2002 redux though.
1951 is preferred though 2002 was impressive as well.

Btw, if you feel like posting those updates on the ski thread that would be awesome. I think most people here don't want to hear about snow right nowBear Golden wrote: ↑Sun Feb 09, 2020 10:14 am Whistler Blackcomb snow forecast looks absolutely insane next week...

Re: February 2020 Forecasts and Discussions
There's a chance, yep. Its been an active winter, no reason to think it won't continue. I personally say bring it on, not because its epic but because some snow in the valleys means epic in the mountainsAbbyJr wrote: ↑Sun Feb 09, 2020 11:06 am I know I might sound silly for suggesting this but I think there is the potential for one more low elevation snow event this season. A few more slushy cms this winter wouldn't surprise me. We see snow in the air in the lowlands in March more often than not.
