I know there are no heatwaves upcoming but are we finally going to have sun and at least average temperatures for while? I think the GFS shows another trough around the 21st but hopefully it changes...
18z shows more rain on Thursday, and possibly more showers on Friday.

I personally love this pattern but that’s just me. Been a blessing not to die of heat and my allergies have been not bad at all for the first time since I was a kid.

Fresh dusting of snow on the Connecter last evening. Van said it was 3C. Also saw a black bear on the Coqu. Looks like we're teased again after the next five days with some real summer weather.

It warms my heart to see my home town being the coldest place in Canada today! This is one of the few places in BC, if not the only place, that can be the nation's hotspot and the nation's cold spot.

Beautiful day today.

With only one or two days of rain forecast in the next two+ weeks, I think we can finally say that summer and the dry season have officially begun.

Fell asleep on the early side last night, with all the windows open. Woke early this morning and it was 9°C outside and 15°C inside… brrr. Thankfully the sun is strong and bright and my condo is warming up quickly with the solar gain from the east-facing windows.
It's called clown range for a reason.

Off the top of my head the only places in Canada that I know of that can be the hottest place in the nation and the coldest place in any given day are Dawson, Yukon and Tatlayoko Lake, BC.

Here is Tatlayoko Lake proof that I screenshot...

But probably not the same day eh?

Looks like we are finally in the clear for some summer weather. Hopefully September will be nice (unlike last year).
It always snows in December in the Kootenays

Latest GFS much drier for Thurs/Fri for the Lower Mainland. I was hoping for one more wet system. If we get 2 weeks of hot and dry weather I can see the forest service putting up the campfire bans way earlier than necessary this year to err on the side of caution. The last thing we need is a smoke show like 2017 or 2018.

Yeah, 12z is bone dry thru the end of the month. Typical for this time of year.
