True, don't count out heat potential in early September. Sept, 2011 was a hot month and saw the warmest temps of that year for many locations and in 2017 we had a solid heat wave in early September including labour day weekend and first week of school.

August has been very comfortable so far, so we're due for some heat. 14 days into the month and the highest max at YXX is only 27.8C.

The second half of July was warm, but overall this summer has been very moderate compared to normal. You definitely have to go back a few years to find a JJA that's been as comfortable as this one.

We could see a back-loaded summer with more heat in September, or it could just be one of those increasingly uncommon years with a fairly moderate summer.
