Weak deformation band in Mission is afternoon. Had to wait for it to move on before taking the kiddos out on their bikes. It sure cooled off after it moved through. As we were returning home from the ride there were a few wet flakes here at 70m elevation.
Convection triggered by a departing low. I suspected something was brewing but we ran out of daylight and the airmass had dried considerably.
There appears to be a few convective cells down in Puget Sound. Thunderstorms and rainfall rates at 1" an hour about an hour ago near Port Townshead.
Crazy to see this happening in November. This may be a very unusual period comimg up.
To think that all long range models depicted ridging and drier than normal conditions 10 days ago.
Very persistent trends now and we are seeing this development occur in real time. That jet really ramps up end of the week. The clash of cold air over the Pacific and a moisture fetch from the tropics lead me to think potential storms are definitely looming. Cold air lingers within close proximity meaning these systems could pack a snowy punch at times.

The snow tapered off as we came into Merritt but then it picked up again as we neared the Coquihalla Summit. Stopped snowing as we came down the hill and the skies started to clear near Hope. Home safe now with our new puppy.

GEM continues to advertise a major windstorm Friday next week. Thats one deep low crossing around or just south of Central Vancouver Island. Would do significant damage if that solution verified.
