Wind suddenly picked up here in Tsawwassen, had a couple strong gusts come outta nowhere
Currently located in Tsawwassen, beside Tsawwassen Mills

24hr rain total of 45mm here. Pretty wet system but zero wind so far.
North end of Shawnigan Lake. Southern Vancouver island. 500ft

And I agree, I just checked the satellite, the models have it off the tip of Northern VI by now and it seems like it's about to hit the Northern Island instead. So a fair bit SE than modeled.

Plenty of wind here in Lower North Van, bracing for a power outage...especially with many of the trees around here still full of leaves somehow.

There appears to be a surge of S to SE winds moving north now. SE winds tend to be more localized to exposed areas. I know here locally I’ve seen YYJ gusting over 100kmh while at the same time Shawnigan Lake was flat calm less than 15 km away.

Previous RGEM runs had a track over the Northern Island but then it trended offshore. Perhaps the solution shown in previous runs will verify. :thumbup:
