Build that cold pool and recover the ice so we can get a more legit blast in late December or early January.

Yup... November and early December often sucks during La Ninas. Our peak winter season is generally Dec 1st to Feb 14th, but La Nina typically pushes the start date ahead another couple weeks. Christmas is still on the table, but then again we may not see anything good until late December or early January.

Let's just hope it's not too back-loaded... I think we've had enough February snowfalls in recent years. It always feels like a consolation prize. We need to get December and January back on track.

I know, it’s just so psychologically wounding to get downvoted on an obscure weather forum. It scars one for life.

Though arctic sea ice has normally been more expansive in past Nina's. We are in uncharted territory.

Early December ridging and a possible foggy inversion followed by retrogression and cold. Book it.

Been a while since a good, cold, foggy December inversion. Won’t complain if one happens, assuming it doesn’t stick around too long.
