So basically a lock to slot into 2nd by next June since YVR has never seen a 30 in May iirc

Would a SSW event favour arctic air over Western Canada during a -ENSO/+QBO?

Re: November 2020 Forecasts and Discussions
YVR may have hit it as well a day earlier..On May 28, 1983. At least according to that graph anyway.
I looked up yxx stats for comparison... 33.9 on the 28th and 36.0 one the 29th. Those are crazy numbers for May. Even crazier is the fact that the temperature of 36.0 peaked at 1pm on the 29th, not later in the day... meaning if the supplanting cold front had been delayed, it likely could have been even hotter lol.

So much for the dry inversion...Wet and mild at times. No real storms, warmth or cold.

Yeah, mid and long range looks pretty mild. Good thing the mountains already have decent snowpacks.wetcoast91 wrote: ↑Sun Nov 22, 2020 9:03 am So much for the dry inversion...Wet and mild at times. No real storms, warmth or cold.

Re: November 2020 Forecasts and Discussions
3°C after an overnight low of 1 here. I don’t think snow is likely; dew point is within a 1°C of temperature. Maybe atop Burnaby Mountain….
It's called clown range for a reason.

Re: November 2020 Forecasts and Discussions
We are heading for Aleutian low, +EPO, progressive suckfest for awhile IMO. I thought we might have a shot at something in November this year, but that ain’t happening. I do think December will be the warmest to average month of this winter. Hopefully I’m wrong and things get blocked up again by the second week in December

I've said this before a few times but I think this winter is going to be disappointing one with all the hype.
