Nothing is breaking up that PV. A nuclear fall out would somehow bring chilly rain to abbotsford

Why has the PV been so strong the past couple of years? -ENSO/+QBO/Low solar and yet the cold won't dive down south at all.

We shouldn't need a SSW event in these conditions to see even a modified arctic front but apparently we do in our current climate.

For what it's worth, probably not much. GFS is showing some snow in the morning on Sunday.

18z NAM shows similar. Wet snow saturday night into sunday morning. 850mb temps look marginal; precip rates will be key to seeing some flakes.

High res 00z NAM shows a chance of wet snow early Sunday too. Maybe some light accumulations on westwood plateau and burnaby mountain.

I just fail to see what low solar has to do with it, although truthfully I haven't done much research on that matter.

Agreed Mr. Kells the big talk was a monster cold winter the last few years due to a quiet sun. Fail to see anything of sorts. Of course the AF was pushing this theory big time. I don't blame Jr. for asking about it. Where's John these day's a week till the 17th now.
