Euro looks a lot better for the lower mainland but I don't buy it.
Most likely scenario is cold rain and non accumulating snow below 100m. Maybe 1-2cm of slush 100-200m and 5cm 200-300m.
East and South Island still look to do well. Whatever snow falls will likely stick around through Christmas day.
06Z HRR coming in HOT!!!

I don't buy it either. Your assessment sounds reasonable.

I’d take my chances with that. But I dunno about using ensembles for something less than 48hrs out.
Sure is mild tonight. Nito probably has is Speedo on. Drinking a pina colada. Temp has shot up from 4 to 10C in the last hour or so.

06Z HRRR is great for island and okay for mainland. Definitely won’t get 10:1 out of it but at this point any snow is a thrill

Unfortunately us mainlanders will be sitting this one out on the sidelines.
Another SE island special but it's nice to know at least some folks on the south coast will get a white christmas.
Prime time for the region will likely come in a few weeks time...mid January arctic blast?

Hopefully this is better than modeled. Sounds like higher elevations in LM will see heavy snow. PornoMan and Catnip special

Ha! EC is now calling for wet snow and heavy wet snow on higher elevations with a high of 4 after. Remember 2 days ago when they said 12 was going to be the high. Suck it pineapples!
That said I am hopeful to get 5 cm but I realize I’ll be lucky to see snow flying in the air and that’s about it. It’s the 2020 way.
Burnaby Mountain @ 365 m. .
Stats? Fresh out of those. But I win anyway. I got all the inches.

A rain to snow transition. Rare indeed these days. Pornoman may get buried due to high elevation. Be prepared

EC now has SWS for wet snow. 150 to 200 m snow levels. Uncertain accumulations.
