Rubus_Leucodermis wrote: Mon Dec 21, 2020 5:50 pm Oddly enough, there was a discussion recently in the American forum on how Chilliwack tends to do significantly better than Abbotsford in the snow department, which is sort of surprising given the two cities are not that far from each other or at a significantly different elevation. The best theory was that it had something to do with the overall shape of the Fraser Valley.

Anyhow, Gumps is probably going to have quite the losing streak against Sardine in this contest.
Yes Rubes, i think cuz Abby is mostly low elevation and downsloping from most directions, where the Wack has compressional cooling into the V..prolly just enough to make the difference... Nito can you help me here? :hmm:

A weak deformation zone is a reason why the Valley from 264th St to Chilliwack is seeing continued snow. Should cease around 9pm but wouldnt be surprised if some locations see 30cm when all is set and done.

Came back from my walk. I’d guess nearing 10 cm so not bad for a marginal event. A bit wet. Hit by many snow bombs off the trees.
Here are some shots.

Wait not sure how that first one got in there...

30 cm? Maybe Chilliwack but I doubt Abbotsford see's anything close to that.

You can also see the snow line backtracking again, heading west this time, but slowly.
