To be fair, most events here are a nowcast. Its just that this one has been diminished to the point of hoping to avoid a bust rather than hoping for something epic.

The cold trough shifting offshore into the Pacific is what messed it up for us. The epic GFS runs had it right over SW BC with a strong North Pacific block. Would have been the perfect setup for cold sliders to come down the coast and draw in cold from the interior.

Its the case where a slight shift in the position of the trough is the difference between a region wide snowstorm and a marginal slush event.
