his success rate is very lowCanuck wrote: ↑Sun Jan 24, 2021 8:29 am I'm sorry but it absolutely is over on his prediction of 5-10 cm for lower elevations.
He seems like a nice a guy and his enthusiasm is fun. But his forecasts are massively overrated by some. I've always watched his actual success rate, and it's no better than most here.

That radar has been showing precip just south of us all day long. Yawn. Its been fizzling out to just light precip all day. I'm not holding my breath.

The entire GFS run looked good in mid to long. Did you see that massive snowstorm later on?

No snow at all today, saw some chunky rain though...highlight of this winter.
Sechelt, about 15 minutes away got some snow on the ground.

Re: January 2021 Forecasts and Discussions
GFS continues to advertise our next chance of a more significant cold snap to be early-mid February.
Honestly, this wouldn't surprise me. Apart from a few exceptions, February seems to be our new January.
Seeing how well February 2014, 2017, 2018, and 2019 performed, its evident that we can still get the goods late in the season.

Re: January 2021 Forecasts and Discussions
Yes, but our luck will run out in Februarys as well. If we cant get snow in Jan or Dec...again, i doubt we will see another cold snowy Feb. We are batting .500 right now..odds are against another good Feb. Probably just more cold rain, followed by some more cold rain.AbbyJr wrote: ↑Sun Jan 24, 2021 9:20 pm GFS continues to advertise our next chance of a more significant cold snap to be early-mid February.
