Willoughby wrote: Mon Jan 25, 2021 8:44 am Seems like at face value that the mid/upper levels have cooled again this morning.
Drove through couple showers from north Langley to Murrayville area and the showers were mainly wet snow and even graupel towards Murrayville, which is at sea level.
Yes upper levels are cooling, just as the precip shuts off...again
Looking forward to our first 3 day stretch of sun and 20c++ 8-)

My guess is that band of precip N/S line south of Abby will fizzle out..if not, it will be rain or slush only.

Amazing...that stationary Low is still there...now rotating right dead centre over the inland sections of the Southern Island. Models had that thing bobbling and stationary

I hope something happens.

Just remember January 2020 though. I'm still taking a cautiously optimistic approach...
It always snows in December in the Kootenays

Today seems like a #surprise kind of day.

If only it were a degree or two colder.

We might see a brief +PNA spike and some warm rains between these patterns but no doubt...a colder pattern ahead.
Yup. February is our new January.

Or precipitation is too light,
Or moisture runs out as soon as it is cold enough
Or Nito curses us
Or Environment Canada issues a snowfall warning

That sucks, man. I only had 2 cm here in the Okangan as well, which was bang on the forecast, so not entirely a lost cause.

P.S. Is this the picture you took?
