And it’s been doing so about the same amount of days into the future for most of a week at least. It keeps receding as we approach, much like the visual type of mirage does.

Weatherpro what now where do we go from here

The arctic air struggles to get West of the Rockies..def more so in recent years. Yes blocking is good, but gimme a Yukon/PG High..that will bring the much needed cold temps here. The snows will come. There's something that gives me "snow" confidence about going into a snow event with a previous nights low of -12c or so

Wow super clear from here to the east. If it clears out tonight, we may be lucky and catch the odd flurry overnight. At least the ground may be frozen by then. This is all we have now to hope for lol

I know it's hard to believe but I actually think February has potential with the MJO moving into phase 7 and the second burst of stratospheric warming peaking.

That, and the GFS operational has been hinting at this and the ensembles are caving to it.

I really wish you guys are correct. Hope the good stuff, if any, will happen in the first half of the month.

Would probably still find a way to screw us in some way. 1c heavy rain and then rapidly dries out as temps drop to -5c.

I will stop being a Negative Nellie for a moment and point out that last January, Goofus was predicting an insanely cold arctic blast weeks out. While the insanely cold part did not verify, the arctic blast part did. Eventually the Euro and others came around. So who knows. But first, it has to cut the crap of receding into the future on a day-by-day basis before I take it even semi-seriously.
