Honestly January 2020 was so close to being historical in my opinion. If the polar vortex had not been so strong or the pattern change coincided with a SSW event, I think we would have locked into that pattern for 2 weeks with the polar vortex over the PNW.

That record breaking positive AO ruined what could have been one of the best Januaries since 1969. Maybe not as good, but one of the best since in my opinion. Its always something around here messing with our winter fun. :bang: :bang: :bang:

In other news, the ENSO is trending neutral by summer. This is good news as I wouldn't want to be stuck in a Nina during the summer.

Monty sounds like the big winner with 80cms this year. Usually Catnip does well too..but his totals this year were Portland like. What did the Catnip Hill get this year? :nocomment:
Unofficially i would say i've had about 20cms..missed the last 3 days if anything fell here. But most of the 20cms was no more than a slush festival :bs:

Yes it seems much more likely to have cold air flood down the lee side of the Rockies. Getting that same cold air to "retrograde" west and then get past both the Rockies and Coast mountains seems to be too much of a struggle last several years. Pacific is just killing the snow chances with POD. Tell em NITO!!
I'll be looking forward to the first bommy day with sun breaks..hopefully end of this week or early next week. YESSSSSS
Just puuuulease no more slushfestivals
