My aunt just moved back to Abbotsford after living 10 years in Newfoundland on the east shores. She said it was great. Weather was all kinds of crazy especially in winter with drifting snow. Icebergs were wonderful to look at floating by, summers not too hot, similar to here. Wind storms were crazy.

However, quality of life was lower. She said it was hard to find a job, small town attitudes, high prices for fresh foods. She said produce was the worst. So some things were not that great. Her car only lasted 10 years due to the harsh environment as well.

So you win some, you lose some. :bubbleg:

At this point in the season..we can pretty much call it a winter :surrender: ..barring some fluke snowstorm, which i would say is still possible until around Mar 7 or so. Tik Tok goes the clock buttees! So i will now hope for a really cold soggy Feb March to build the snowpack in the Similkameen of course. Property is cheap up there :shovelsnow:

After all the tracking we've done and all the fails, imagine this one randomly produces more snow. Seems doubtful.

Now the GFS ensembles seem adamant that cold shot next week is not a complete waste of time. That would be a nice surprise.

Yeah I'm not really expecting to see any flakes here today but it would be a surprise for sure.

I'm still wanting that March snowfall though. Just hope March has some warm periods.
It always snows in December in the Kootenays

It just started snowing now. Took a few moments for the snow to come down the mountains.
