That “cotton” is harmless. It is the grass pollen, being released in great quantity during that time, which is the culprit.
It's called clown range for a reason.

Latest model guidance doing away with any significant warmth until May. This weekend a mix of cotton and snow. La Nina re-strengthening to support constant marine layers through to October. Icelandic volcano looks to block out any sunshine that does appear. Potential nuke war to follow, wiping out the next 10 summers.

This is true. That's saying something... :wtf: :silent:
It always snows in December in the Kootenays

Solid 1 week or even longer dry spell coming up after Friday's rain. Similar to last year although I think after Friday's rain we will already be wetter than last April which was one of the driest on record.

Yes its veggie season!
The island (inland, hills) should see some decent snow with Fridays storm. PornoMan, this could be your last significant event this season :shh:
Friday is going to be a cold, possibly sloppy day for these parts :wsnow: :wrain: :wsnow: :rusure:

I suspect we will just get what happened last week (or was it the week before? Does any one know what day it is anymore?).
I will get a few hours of sloppy snow as perhaps will the odd other location. No accumulations below 500m. Otherwise rain.
Heard precip wasn’t expected to be particularly heavy so I expect nothing more than this.
Ready for 20c next week!
Burnaby Mountain @ 365 m..

Stats? Fresh out of those. But I win anyway. I got all the inches.

Anyone starting to get a bit worried about the potential for a smokey summer? There have already been a few forest fires flare up in the last little while and it appears that it has been pretty dry in the interior lately.

Unfortunately last year's incredibly cold and wet June did not save us. We need variable conditions with rain events throughout the summer, well at least into July. It only takes a couple weeks of heat to put us on smoke notice. And even still, last year it was all coming from the south of us, down in Oregon and Cali. I think we might be eating smoke as a semi permanent summer feature at this point.
