First 30c reading of the year here in east coquitlam with a high of 30.6c at around 4pm.

More warm/hot and dry weather through October would be great.

No thanks, I will take a pass on another late summer smokefest.

2012 was essentially bone dry from July until early October and there were no major smokey periods that summer.

Surprisingly, they actually got this right. My only beef is with the phrase at the end, "the summer months will also be hotter than normal." Instead, it should say, "forecasts are predicting a hotter than normal summer, but summer temperatures are notoriously hard to accurately predict."

I seem to remember 2012 being a very cool and foggy summer in Seattle. Vancouver was different?

I love the sunny weather, but I don't like going from 12c to 28c in 2 days span. I can't stand the heat, especially when it's thrown on us out of nowhere. Today is boiling again!

Yeah, interesting. YVR is running about 3 degrees warmer than my station and those around me.

It's even warmer now, 28 as of 4 PM, but essentially all the Wunderground stations in Richmond and Vancouver are running 27-30 so I don't think it's a malfunction. It's actually that warm out west.

2012 was a cool and wet spring if I recall and a very wet late June. I remember Canada day being a washout that year much like last year. I'd like this heat to hold off until July though. The earlier the hot weather arrives, the more likely we will get a smoke show. Looks like a wetter and cooler pattern for this weekend and into next week but the latest CPC is now back to below median precip for the 6-10 and 8-14 day. They need a wet June in the interior or there will likely be a smoke show.

That is truly surprising and astounding, given what a cool spot YVR tends to be during warm spells.

By the way, what’s a “fotecast?”

I feel the same way! When it goes from cool to HOT I just about Sh*t down, but after a few weeks I can get used to it. My truck showed a high temp of 34c yesterday and 33c today 🥵
