Spences bridge is very likely the hottest place in Canada.

I mean, late June and early July are virtually the same. And solar radiation is at its peak.

So we're now staring down the barrel of a bad fire season. No campfires after this heatwave unless we legitimately cool off and get widespread rain. Even if we do, the fires from down south will filter up here eventually. They're already getting a bunch of fires and smoke down further south. I feel for people with underlying health issues when it hits us, right as we get in the clear from covid.

So glad I'm not in Oregon. 108F? :o

Seasonal lag perhaps. Record highs in the last week of June are generally in the 30-33C range. Compared to the last week of July when they are in the 36-38C range.

Possibly some convective potential with that little upper level feature sneaking through the ridge next Sunday

And there's no auto station what a joke, isn't the next one in Ashcroft?

That's absolutely insane. yah, well the thing l get tired of is the media hype, assuming it's going to happen is poor journalism IMO, they do it every summer.

l don't even think there's a volunteer station there. At my work we had a driver that lived in Spences Bridge he would tell me his backyard temp. Of course l never asked how accurate it was l didn’t want to appear geeky.

I noticed EC is calling for some wind in the morning and afternoon for the fraser valley, bit of outflow perhaps, blast furnace winds. :o

A 10C jump in one day will be quite the shock to the system.

Looks similar to the heat spikes in mid-late June 2017 and 2018... recall many stations across inland metro Vancouver hitting 33-36c for a few days.

No wind forecast here, I hope the heat is short lived but at least it's cool at night so easy to cool the house down before the heat of the next day
