Re: June 2021 Forecasts And Discussions
At 615pm my car was still indicating 34C in Central/West Abbotsford, however as I drove back to E. Abby (10min drive) it settled to 32C as I neared my house. I'm not mentioning this because I think it's accurate, more-so because it's interesting to see where the hot pockets actually lie.

Just need Nipper and Houndsie and we've got a barnyard fightVanCitySouth wrote: ↑Fri Jun 25, 2021 8:07 pm Hold your horses, no need to go quite so far. He hasn't really said anything offensive here, let's not let an already charged debate become even less civilised.
I'm generally leery of wading in to these topics, but it's hard to deny the earth is warming much faster than at any other point we can reasonably infer from, and that there is a direct correlation with carbon. I see the mistrust from the other side as partially the fault of "alarmists" in the media/populace who do use the subject to push their own agenda/group/politics. The way to push back is not to ridicule or ostracise. Nobody has ever been internet forum'ed into a different viewpoint, after all.

Just FYI: read for content. I was not proposing banning anyone here. I would in fact be opposed to banning John.VanCitySouth wrote: ↑Fri Jun 25, 2021 8:07 pm Hold your horses, no need to go quite so far. Re: June 2021 Forecasts And Discussions
Question!
Who here thinks YXX will break it's early morning high (set on July 11, 2007) of 33.3C by 9am, and/or the 30.5C by 8am at any point during this heat wave? I'd love to see that record fall; and given how extreme it is, it makes me wonder how incredibly intense that heat was, on that day in 2007, even though it was for such a short duration - for it to produce temps so extreme, so early in the morning.
Thoughts?

Re: June 2021 Forecasts And Discussions
I'm interested in seeing whether we see highest Tmin records broken as well. I'm not sure what the records are for YVR, YPK or YXX but I'd assume somewhere between 20c and 25c.arbetrader wrote: ↑Fri Jun 25, 2021 8:32 pm Question!

Re: June 2021 Forecasts And Discussions
Yeah, I think July 11th '07 had the makings of a very high record low, but due to the timing of the heatwave, it just didn't quite make it in time. Notice the sharp contrast in temps, 0500 of 21.7 and 0600 of 27.0C. That's insanely warm for our parts, at 0600. My guess is we might smash through that one this time around (maybe). But the 0900 33.3C? That one might be tough...

Re: June 2021 Forecasts And Discussions
Makes me think, we had a high of 31.8 today and with it being warmer tomorrow, we'll probably be able to hit 34-35. 40 will definitely be in play tomorrow YXX-eastwards.
