Ridge looks a notch stronger. Thermal trough still west of the cascades on Monday afternoon. Yep. That’s a winner for extreme heat.

Re: June 2021 Forecasts And Discussions
For discussion of course there's a station in Coal Harbour that said where should an official station be located to represent Vancouver. I would say right in middle of Vancouver City where ever that would be.Hound wrote: ↑Fri Jun 25, 2021 11:13 pm Well today was gross enough. Not looking forward to hotter days.
Hit 33c as a high today, 17c as a low last night.
Currently 25.2
My guess is we hit 38 tomorrow. Saturday. In my area.
And yes, the official Vancouver weather station should NOT be at the airport. Such an inaccurate view on Vancouver temps etc.

Re: June 2021 Forecasts And Discussions
Someone on the American forum recently quipped that using YVR airport to represent the whole Vancouver metro area is a bit like using San Francisco's weather readings to represent the whole Bay Area.
It's called clown range for a reason.

On that note Ruby is Bellingham airport also not a good location to represent Bellingham as a whole?Rubus_Leucodermis wrote: ↑Fri Jun 25, 2021 11:37 pm Someone on the American forum recently quipped that using YVR airport to represent the whole Vancouver metro area is a bit like using San Francisco's weather readings to represent the whole Bay Area.

The old Vancouver station ("Vancouver PMO" if anyone wants to look it up in the EC records) was located at city Hall.Sardisbcwx wrote: ↑Fri Jun 25, 2021 11:29 pm For discussion of course there's a station in Coal Harbour that said where should an official station be located to represent Vancouver. Personally I'd put a station in East Van but if they reinstated the city hall station that'd be a lot better representation of the city and region over YVR.

Re: June 2021 Forecasts And Discussions
It doesn't seem to bad to me. Bellingham is strung out along the bayshore. It's definitely more representative of the city as a whole than YVR airport is of Vancouver.Sardisbcwx wrote: ↑Fri Jun 25, 2021 11:40 pm On that note Ruby is Bellingham airport also not a good location to represent Bellingham as a whole?
That said, there are many microclimates here, so no one place can represent all neighborhoods well. I would expect areas in the hills away from the sea breezes got (and will get) significantly warmer.
